COVID-19

Dear Well Point Clients and Friends,

Given the current state of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we thought we should reach out and offer some information.

Firstly, we know many of you are probably worried about your families, and that includes your pets. At this time there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to pets or by pets. However, since everything about this virus is not yet completely understood, both the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the CDC recommend we all take extra precautions when handling our pets, especially if we or our pets are ill.

For more information please see:
COVID-19 FAQs for pet owners from the AVMA:
https://www.avma.org/sites/default/files/2020-03/covid-19-faq-pet-owners_0.pdf
From the CDC:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

Due to the increasing concern about COVID-19 in our state, we have made the difficult decision to limit people in our facility. This means we are asking that when you arrive for your pet's appointment, that you please stay in your car and call us. We will have a technician speak with you over the phone and take any information needed for the appointment. We will then have a staff member come to the car and bring your pet into the hospital for the exam and/or procedure. Please make sure that dogs have a secure collar and/or harness with a leash, and that cats are in a carrier. The doctor or technician will call you after the exam to discuss findings and come up with a treatment plan. After treatment, a staff member will call you for payment over the phone and then we will bring your pet back outside to you. This has been a difficult decision for us to make and we hope you understand that we are making these changes in an attempt to be able to continue to serve your pets while doing our very best to keep our staff and our community as safe as possible. Please know that we continue to be committed to minimizing your pet's stress while they are here, and that we will handle your pet with the same low stress and compassionate methods that we always have. If you feel strongly that this new protocol will not work for you and/or your pet, and that the appointment cannot be postponed, please let us know and we will do our best to come up with an alternative plan. If you need to pick up medications for your pet, please call ahead and we will take payment over the phone. When you arrive, please call us and we will bring the  medication out to your car. If you have any questions about these changes please call our office. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these new and unfamiliar territories.
Please call our office to schedule an appointment.
