Spay and Neuter Clinics
The purpose of the clinic is to assist low-income people and senior citizens with the cost of having their cat spayed or neutered. We are committed to having two spay clinics per month in association with Responsible Pet Care. The clinic dates will be on the first and third Wednesday of the month at our facility. Call for an appointment.
- The cost of the spay surgery is $50. The cost of neuter surgery is $30. Rabies and distemper vaccinations, *flea treatment and worming are available at an additional charge.
- Cats must be at least three months old.
- A reservation must be made by calling Well Point Veterinary Service 207 743-6441.
- A current rabies vaccination is required. A vaccination can be given to the cat at the time of surgery at an additional charge.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DAY OF SURGERY
- The cat must not eat anything after midnight the night before surgery.
- Bring your cat to our office in a carrier with two clean towels at your assigned time.
- When you arrive you will be given a release form to sign. You will be asked to leave a telephone number where you can be reached during the day.
- After you have registered you will be asked to wait a short time until your cat has been examined by the veterinarian and cleared for surgery.
- Before you leave you will be given a return time. Please be prompt in picking up your cat.
*If your cat has fleas a flea treatment will be given immediately to prevent fleas from being transmitted to other animals coming into the facility. There will be an additional charge for the treatment.
